WORKING WITH ME
THE PROCESS
The First Chat
While most of my clients are repeat business, new customers usually reach out to me through my website or are referred by existing clients.
I have a small list of questions that I ask everyone so that I can understand your business's needs. However, the first chat is mostly about getting to know you and seeing if we will be the right fit for each other.
Project
Consultation
I seek to understand and learn as much about any project as I can and where possible, I like to meet with all clients to discuss new photoshoots. I want to know the journey to this point, its inspiration and purposes. I like to look at the plans and renders and materials as well as talk about your ideas, the budget and other logistics for the shoot. all of which will help me to provide you with an accurate proposal and quote.
The Proposal
Particularly for larger projects, I like to provide a written proposal covering my ideas for the project, a likely timeline, as well as pricing and licensing options. This ensures that we are all on the same page and that you know what to expect moving forward.
Locking in
a Date
After agreeing to the proposal and a shoot date, everything is formalized by signing a project agreement and paying the 50% retainer/deposit to confirm the booking.
Pre-shoot Visit
A location visit before shoot day is hugely beneficial and allows me the opportunity to fully understand the project. I like to walk around each space with you and hear you talk about the design, its inspiration, the features and materials. We will also build the shot list and identify the possible angles for each image while discussing their challenges and how to overcome them.
Shoot Day
The start of a shoot day is normally decided by the sun and what time of day the natural light will be best for the most important photos. This can mean predawn starts to catch that special sunrise glow or even late evenings to capture the projects lighting design while it is vacant.
Generally speaking, high-end interior and architectural photography is often a much slower process than most people first realize. It's not uncommon for each image to take up to an hour to compose and capture each of the necessary frames needed to build the final image later in photoshop. How much time will be required on-site on shoot day is something that we will estimate and discuss during planning.
Image
Selection
After shoot day, I will send you a link to an online gallery of the curated, unedited images where you can select the final photos you would like for delivery as well as make any specific editing requests.
Editing
Wonderfully, our eyes see and appreciate way more than any camera can capture in a single photo. So, the purpose of photo editing is to recapture the natural ambiance and evoke the emotions of being in each space.
A fully edited image, depending on the complexity of lighting, can be made up of between 3 to 12 separate frames, each one seamlessly playing their role to complete the final image by helping to balance the exposure and reveal details.
Delivery
&
Revisions
I deliver final images via an easy-to-use online gallery where images can be reviewed and downloaded anytime, from any device. On occasion, special revisions or extra editing requests are required after the project has been delivered and I am always happy to oblige.
Follow Up
&
Feedback
I thrive on the feedback and appreciate all client opinions negative and positive because it is how I improve every aspect of what I do. I do my best to follow up with each client after every project. I seek feedback on the quality of the work, the delivery, and your overall experience working with me.
Even after the full completion of a project I love to stay in touch. Many of my clients like to be kept up to date with industry changes and trends. And between projects, I am always happy to consult and offer my expertise and advice if it is ever needed.
